SJD SHORTS: Contagion

Created exclusively for our online audience, SJD SHORTS presents specially chosen excerpts from our rich catalogue, each one personally introduced by Shobana. Join us for the final episode featuring Contagion on Monday 17 August at 7pm (UK).

★★★★★ “Vivid, moving and stunningly stylised” The Times

Created in 2018, Contagion commemorates the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918 which killed more people than the First World War itself. Inspired by the nature and spread of the unseen flu virus, the work has become unexpectedly relevant to the world we find ourselves in today.

Shobana will chat with Guardian Dance Writer Sanjoy Roy about the work, and answer your questions online.
