I am only able to produce my work with the support of our wonderful donors. They create the space and resources that help me develop initial thoughts and inspirations into fully shaped projects and performances. And today we are ever-more reliant on the generous philanthropy of individuals to achieve our ambitions and look to the future with confidence.
— Shobana Jeyasingh
We believe that dance has a role to play in talking about the world we live in.
On behalf of all at Shobana Jeyasingh Dance and the arts sector more widely, please help by making a donation. Every small contribution helps.
Donors who make gifts of between £5 and £499 will become part of our Apsara Circle (Apsaras are the heavenly dancers of Hindu mythology) and we will keep you closely connected with our work.
Download payment formWe warmly invite you to support our Creative Circle to help us create work that is visceral and stimulating. Your philanthropy is needed more than ever as Covid-19 continues to devastate the arts sector.
The Creative Circle is a philanthropic funding programme for gifts of £500 to £10,000, which go directly towards the creation and production of new works. As a Creative Circle supporter you will become an extended member of our artistic team and you’ll receive exclusive, regular insights from Shobana and we will thank you in our programmes and online.
“The Creative Circle takes you to the very heart of SJD’s creative process. It is exciting to be part of this interesting group of lovers of contemporary dance and a privilege to become closely involved with Shobana, her team and her dancers.” – Beatrice Larsen, supporter of the Creative Circle

Creating new dance works takes months, even years. Shobana’s initial ideas, inspired by life in today’s bustling cities, can only form, develop and finally bind together in a finished work through a rigorous process of research, rehearsal and collaboration with dancers, composers, designers and production experts.
We set ourselves a minimum target of raising at least £300,000 each year to support the development of productions and our wide-reaching Learning programme.
With your help, by making a donation of any size, our small company can continue to make dance which challenges the mind as well as the body. And crucially, we can continue to support our freelance dancers, designers, technicians, and musicians, which is critical to the survival of the arts during these challenging times.
“We are immensely proud and privileged to be able to support the development of new work at Shobana Jeyasingh Dance. Being even a small part of the creative journey that brings an exciting new performance to the wider audience is extremely important to us.”
