Kiki has been working in dance and the arts for over three decades, as a performer, choreographer, community dance artist and as founding artistic director and chief executive of East London Dance (1992 – 2013). Whilst there she established artistic partnerships with the Royal Opera House, Dance Umbrella, Greater London Authority and Sadler’s Wells, and commissioned new work by artists/companies including Rosemary Lee, Wayne McGregor, Candoco, Alesandra Seutin, Kenrick Sandy, Caroline Bowditch and Wilkie Branson & Sally Cookson.
Since 2013 Kiki has been working as a senior freelance consultant with, amongst others, Luca Silverstrini’s Protein Dance, Sadler’s Wells, the English Folk Dance & Song Society, Hall for Cornwall, and as Interim Director of Engagement at English National Ballet. In December 2015 she was appointed as the Director of the Dance for Parkinson’s Partnership UK and more recently played a key role in the development of a new national project, Live Well & Dance with Parkinson’s at People Dancing.
Kiki has served on a number of Boards including First Movement, Akademi, People Dancing & Rosemary Lee projects and is currently a Board member of The Creation Works CIC; she has been an adviser for both Arts Council England and the Welsh Arts Council. In 2004 she was awarded an MBE for her services to dance.
