We’re broadcasting Staging Schiele online on Friday 15 November at 5pm. You’ll be able to watch the full piece on Twitter, our Facebook page and You Tube channel.
Inspired by the Austrian artist Egon Schiele (1890-1918), the piece focuses on Schiele’s life and work recreated via the lens of contemporary dance. It offers an alternative view of social identity, exploring themes such as: how art makes the interior external; the status of women as subjects; and art history through dance.
Four dancers inhabit Egon Schiele’s highly-charged world of colour, masterful lines and unusual perspectives, putting the human body on visceral display.
Above is an excerpt from the video design by YeastCulture, which will be projected on to the set for Staging Schiele.
