Inspired by the Austrian artist Egon Schiele (1890-1918), the piece focuses on Schiele’s life and work recreated via the lens of contemporary dance. It offers an alternative view of social identity, exploring themes such as: how art makes the interior external; the status of women as subjects; and art history through dance.
Four dancers inhabit Egon Schiele’s highly-charged world of colour, masterful lines and unusual perspectives, putting the human body on visceral display.
